A little island comfort, one warm cup at a time.
Bring the cocoa-tea ritual into your kitchen. Grate or finely shave a little of the cocoa stick into a saucepan, add your favorite warming spices, and make your cup just the way you like it.
US$10 for one cocoa stick. The stick is intended for preparing drinks and cooking; remove all wrapping before use.
Make it your way
- Simmer into cocoa tea with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Add milk or a plant-based alternative for a creamier drink.
- Stir a little grated cocoa into oatmeal.
Simple cocoa tea — 1 serving
Starting ingredients: 1–2 teaspoons finely grated cocoa stick, ¾ cup water, ¼ cup milk or a plant-based alternative, a small piece of cinnamon stick, a pinch of nutmeg, and sweetener to taste. Cocoa strength varies; adjust the grated amount to your taste.
- Unwrap the stick and grate the amount you need.
- Bring the water and cinnamon to a gentle simmer. Whisk in the grated cocoa and simmer gently for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the milk and nutmeg. Warm gently, stirring, then sweeten to taste.
- Remove the cinnamon and strain if you prefer a smoother cup. Serve warm.
Cocoa breakfast oats — 1 serving
Cook ½ cup rolled oats with 1 cup water or milk, following the oat package directions. Stir in 1 teaspoon finely grated cocoa during cooking. Finish with a pinch of cinnamon and sweetener to taste. Add a splash more liquid if needed.
Keep it fresh
Keep the remaining stick well wrapped in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong odors. Use a clean, dry grater or knife.
